The Kastellet ferry (Swedish: Kastelletleden), also known as the Vaxholmen ferry, is a passenger cable ferry in Sweden's Stockholm archipelago.It connects the town of Vaxholm to Vaxholm Castle, situated on an islet in the middle of the Kodjupet [] strait between the town and the island of Rindö []. Ferry goes to Stockholm and small boat goes to nearby fortress (Vaxholm Fortress). Buses for Stockholm leave every 15 minutes. Bus and car friendly. Could bike around town but elevation changes would mean difficult bike ride.

We wanted to see more of the Swedish archipelago, so one day we rode the ferry out and back to Sandhamn. Unfortunately, the ferry was unpleasantly crowded.
